River Conditions:

  • River conditions are unpredictable even from hour to hour. Not only can speed and depth vary at different points, but rain can drift in and out even if there is no rain on the forecast.

  • At a certain rate of speed of the river, we will not under any circumstances shuttle or rent ANY watercraft. We consult the United States Geological Survey (USGS) several times daily to make the decision to operate or not.

Your responsibilities:

  • You must sign a waiver to consent that you are aware of the risks and are in good physical condition, capable of operating and carrying the watercraft, along with other terms and conditions.

  • Eastern Slope Camping Area is not responsible for loss of or damage to personal belongings. We recommend that you bring a cell phone with you just in case, and have a waterproof bag to put it in.

  • Every passenger must wear a life vest at all times. If you bring your pet, we highly recommend it wear a life vest, too.

  • Please do not litter on your trip. The crystal clear waters of the Saco River and the surrounding environments are in danger due to overuse and abuse. Please help all of the friends of the Saco River by disposing of ALL TRASH (including cigarette butts, cans, bottles, paper, food waste, etc.) in the proper receptacles at the campground.
